Brennan Traube

Brennan Traube is going to be a junior this upcoming year at Towson University. He is a Computer Science major with a track in cyber security. This will be Brennan’s third year with the TUMB. Brennan was elected President of the TUMB for this upcoming season. He is extremely excited to get involved with more activities on the logistical side of things. Brennan is also a Marching SMAC this year, he was also one last year as well. Brennan is looking forward to being able to meet the new freshman and to have a fantastic season. He also wants everyone to sweek at least once this semester.

Drum Majors

Carrie Barrett

Carrie is a music education major whom focuses on piano and flute. She is originally from Mechanicsville, Maryland located in St. Mary’s County where she was a member of Chopticon High School Marching Band. She joined the TUMB her freshman year and this marks her fourth year at Towson University and in the marching band. Her first year in band she was part of the flute section. This year will be her third year as drum major. At Towson Carrie has also participated in other ensembles such as Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Early Music Ensemble, and Pep Band. She is also an active sister of Tau Beta Sigma, national honorary collegiate band sorority. She looks forward to another fantastic season of working with the TUMB.

Christina Donall

Christina Donall is a Music Education major on clarinet with a minor in Mathematics and Business Administration. She is originally from Northfield, New Jersey where she was a member of the Mainland Regional High School Marching Band. This is her fifth year in the Towson Unviersity Marching Band. Her first three years in band, she was a member of the mellophone section, two of them as a SMAC member. For her fourth season, Christina was the Student Director of Administration and a Backfield Drum Major. She is extremely excited that she will be returning for her fifth season as a Drum Major. At Towson, Christina has also participated in a few other ensembles such as Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Pep Band. Last year, she was also a member of the Towson University Winter Guard. In 2015, Christina marched with Cadets2 as a mellophone player. She is also an active brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Service Fraternity, and will be serving as their President for the 2017-2018 year. Christina looks forward to another fantastic season with the TUMB.

Alexander Poyneer

Ian is a Jazz and Commerical Music Performance Major with a concentration in Drumset. Hailing from Lexington Park, MD, Ian began his experience in the marching arts with the Great Mills High School Marching Band in 2010. Following his graduation, Ian joined the TUMB in 2012, and was the Quad section leader in 2014, 2015, and 2016. In the Spring of 2016, Ian completed his age-out season of WGI with the World Class Finalist Cadets Winter Percussion on Drumset. Before teaching at Towson University, Ian has been an instructor at Chopticon High School and Great Mills High School in 2013 and 2014. He is currently the Battery Instructor at Perry Hall High School in Perry Hall, MD. As a student at Towson, Ian has participated in the Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Latin Ensemble, Pop Ensemble, numerous combos, and guest-performed with the World Music Ensemble. Outside of the classroom, Ian proudly serves as Vice President of the Sigma Tau Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and leads a large student ensemble that frequently performs on campus. Ian looks forward to a great season with the TUMB!
