My name is Kendall D. Appleby. From Glassboro, NJ, I am a junior of Towson University as a Flute Music Education Major with a Minor in Electronic Media and Film. This year I will serve as Flute/Piccolo SMAC of the 2016 TUMB. I’m a band enthusiast bearing a grin, a piccolo, and a camera when the sun rises, and I keep all three until after it’s gone down again. This will be my eighth year in marching band overall, and my third year with the TUMB. I come from a tiny (but mighty!) marching band in South Jersey, so marching in such a magnificent collegiate ensemble humbles me daily. I came to Towson after a series of run-ins with the TUMB, feeling drawn to the school and the band – and I could not have made a better decision in coming here. I am an active sister of Tau Beta Sigma, the band service sorority, aiming to serve the band in any way I can. I offer my service, passion, originality, and optimism to the band – but I am more than those words alone, and I aim to prove it. I serve the TUMB because I love it – and the greatest reward is to simply be among and perform alongside these exceptional people.
