The Towson University Marching Percussion Section is a contemporary, corps-style drumline that is made up of marching battery (snares, tenors, basses, cymbals), front ensemble (marimba, vibes, percussion, etc.), and electronics (synthesizer, drum set, electric guitar, bass guitar, etc.).  The World Famous Towson University Marching Band learns just one field show each year, allowing the Marching Percussion to explore various styles, textures, and effects to add energy and life to the musical presentation.

How to Join

If you are interested in joining the Towson University Marching Percussion section, please refer to the “Future Members” tab at the top of this page. We strongly encourage players of all talent levels and experience to audition.

Off the Field

After the fall marching band season, Towson Marching Percussion members have the opportunity to participate in other types of performances and training.  The drumline has performed at TU basketball and lacrosse games, Baltimore BLAST! soccer games, clinics, and many other special events throughout the community.  There is also a Marching Percussion Technique course in the spring which allows students the opportunity to further develop their skills, perform throughout the community, and even get class credit.
