If you are interested in Volunteering for one or more of the following items please complete our Volunteer Form. If you have any questions please email tubands@towson.edu AND cc Olivia Evans, Volunteer Coordinator, oevans1211@gmail.com.

Game Day Cookouts

The past few seasons, a dedicated group of band parents have continued our tradition of preparing a cookout meal before every home football game for the band members. This is an easy commitment for someone who is only able to help on Saturdays. Volunteers arrive an hour before the scheduled cookout time to set up tables and food. Some parents man the grills while others ice down sodas/water and set out the food.

Game Day Crew

We are looking for a steady group of volunteers to assist with our general game day tasks. This group will be similar to our “roadies” of the past few seasons. The job entails helping move pit equipment onto the field before and after a show, setting up drum major podiums, distributing water and snacks to the band during 3rd quarter, etc. This is a very hands-on job, and your help is extremely vital to the production of our show. If you are interested in dedicating your time to help our field show run smoothly.

Band Trailers and Truck

The band now owns two trailers, a pickup truck and a box truck. Anyone that is comfortable enough maneuvering large vehicles, has a CDL license, and would like to volunteer to drive for our off-campus performances we encourage you to sign up for this committee. If interested, please email Taylor Yozwiak at tyozwiak@towson.edu.

Band Competition Volunteers

This fall, the TUMB will be hosting MMBA MD State Championships in Johnny Unitas Stadium. Each year, 40 high school marching bands from around the state compete on Towson’s campus. We will need parent volunteers to help on the day of the show. Examples of duties include gate monitors, program sellers, parking crew, and driving our nifty golf cart around!

Ability To Move Grills/Large Food Orders

We need a couple of parent volunteers to help move our grills and large food orders on game day. If you have large vehicles it would a plus and volunteers need to have the ability to move large items.

Pit Crew

In this committee we will need volunteers to do several small projects such as building shelves, working on performance platforms etc. If you have any experience in handy work this committee might be the place for you! If interested, please email Taylor Yozwiak at tyozwiak@towson.edu.

Uniform/Sewing Ability

We would greatly appreciate anyone with sewing ability to join the uniform committee to assist with any game day mishaps.

Nurse/EMT

During our performances we would like to have a nurse or EMT on site so if any heath concerns arrive we have someone knowledgable close by to help out as much as possible.

Prop Crew

To embellish our performance and our stage, we utilize props of various natures. We can always use help to create, set up, and move these props for performances.
